We are able to keep pushing forward because of community assistance and grants! We are always looking for grants that will help us fulfill our mission. Here are some that we have had in the past and are currently working on.
The Washington State Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program provides grants to households and small businesses to purchase and install high-efficiency electric equipment and appliances.
We are partnering with Stevens County to re-apply for this year's grant. Last year we partnered ABC Electric in Colville to complete installs for low income applicants. We successfully installed 29 heating units this past year!
The Washington Climate Corps Network (WCCN) Grant Program is designed to support service projects that build climate resilience in overburdened communities. The program aims to mobilize young adults, veterans, and vulnerable populations through service projects that improve the climate resilience of Washington and the professional development of service participants.
The WCCN Grant Program implementation for us entails providing thre Architects that we are training in Fuels Reduction and Weatherization who will provide free home assessments to land-owners to help lower their energy costs and prevent forest fires from destroying their property. We will put on public educational opportunities, and our landscaping company will bid on the job after the free assessment. We are working to partner with DNR for the 50% cost sharing program to help reduce the burden
The Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs grant is what we are currently writing with the assistance of a professional grant writing group. We are writing this for program development. This would cover the cost of appliances, computers, CPR mannequins, CNC machine, 3D printer, and any other classroom materials we would need.
