We are able to keep pushing forward because of community assistance and grants! We are always looking for grants that will help us fulfill our mission. Here are some that we have had in the past and are currently working on.
The Washington State Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program provides grants to households and small businesses to purchase and install high-efficiency electric equipment and appliances.
We have again partnered with Stevens County and to apply for this years HEAR grant. We will continue to partner with ABC Electric in Colville to complete installs for low-income applicants. We successfully installed 29 heating units this past year and we are shooting for even more this year!
The WA Climate Corps Network (WCCN) Grant is designed to support service projects that build climate resilience in overburdened communities. Our grant implementation entails providing three "Architects" who are trained in Fuels Reduction & Weatherization to give free home assessments to land-owners to provide education to help lower energy costs & prevent forest fires and mitigate property damage from them.
Thanks to funding from Innovia Foundation, Stevens County Youth Outreach is installing electrical service in our shop facility. This project is Phase One of our Automotive Training Program and will allow us to safely operate tools, equipment, and workstations needed for hands-on instruction. The upgraded space will help local youth gain valuable job skills and practical experience while preparing for future employment. https://www.statesmanexaminer.com/articles/innovia-awards-roughly-%24100%2C0
The Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs grant is what we are currently writing with the assistance of a professional grant writing group. We are writing this for program development. This would cover the cost of appliances, computers, CPR mannequins, CNC machine, 3D printer, and any other classroom materials we would need.
